NABF Super Middleweight Champion Antwun Echols made short work of Oscar Bravo Thursday night in Santa Ana, NM. An Echols left hook at :42 seconds of the first round put Bravo down and out. Earlier, Super Welterweight contender J.C. Candelo outworked Alfred Ankamah over ten rounds winning a unanimous decision by the scores of

Saturday Night at the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California, Julio Gonzalez takes on Jonathon Young in a 10 rounder. Gonzalez is best remembered for his epic battle against Julian Letterlough and then going 12 rounds with Roy Jones Jr. last year.

Fight  trainer  Miguel  Diaz,  who  will  be  in  Young's  corner  on  Saturday  night,  said  "I'm  convinced  this  will  be  a  great  fight.  Young  sparred  well,  trained  hard  and  ran  well  the  last  six  weeks  in  Las  Vegas."

Nagoberto Najera was cancelled as Mosley came down with the flu.

There  are  two  new  headliners  announced:  Rafael  Marquez,  who  just  defeated  Mark  'Too  Sharp'  Johnson,  heads  for  McAllen,  Tx.  on  July  12....Rafael,  younger  brother  of  Juan  Manuel,  looks  like  an  extraordinary  talent  who  has  a  nice  pop  in  both  gloves...Also,  the  wildly  entertaining  Jorge  Paez  returns  to  the  Indian  Gaming  Center  in  Lemoore,  Calif.  on  July  26.  Both  of  those  fight  cards  will  be  televised  by  Telefutura......
